Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about yogaudio and your audio yoga practice.
About yogaudio
Yogaudio is an audio-only yoga platform featuring classes taught by Megan Rader, the owner of Kula Yoga studios based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. You practice by listening — no screen, no video, just Megan's voice guiding you through movement and breath. It's yoga the way it was meant to be experienced: present, distraction-free, and entirely your own.
This is the question we get most. Here's the honest answer: when you're staring at a screen trying to mirror someone's form, you're watching yoga, not doing yoga. Audio forces you to feel the practice — your breath, your body, your own sense of where you are in space. Most members tell us their practice actually deepened when they removed the visual crutch. It's also just more practical: you can practice in the dark, outside, in a hotel room, or with your phone face-down on the mat.
Megan owns Kula Yoga in Grand Rapids and has been teaching for 15 years. What makes her different isn't credentials — it's her teaching style. She weaves meditation and mindfulness into movement in a way that makes classes feel less like a workout and more like a reset. She's the reason people who "don't really do yoga" keep coming back.
No. The classes are structured and intentional, not conversational. Think of it as a private instructor in your ear — with a library of classes organized by length, style, and intensity that you can build a real practice around.
Classes & Practice
Classes range from slow, meditative yin flows to more active vinyasa-style movement. Everything incorporates Megan's signature blend of breath, body awareness, and presence. You'll find options whether you have 15 minutes or an hour, whether you want to wind down or wake up.
Classes typically run from 20 to 40 minutes. Most members find the 20–30 minute range becomes their go-to for daily practice, but longer classes are there when you have the time and want to go deeper.
No — but it helps to have done a class or two so you're familiar with basic cues like "downward dog" or "warrior two." Megan's teaching is accessible and she cues alignment clearly, but since there's no video, total beginners may want to do one in-person or video class first just to orient themselves physically.
Yes, and this is a big deal for how most members practice. Once you start a class, you can lock your screen and put your phone face-down. No more glancing at the screen, adjusting the camera angle, or getting notifications mid-flow.
